I have always enjoyed knitting having learnt at the age of 8 years old, the first knit being a hot water bottle cover for a badge at Brownies. I was also influenced by the knitting speed and skill of my paternal grandmother.
Family and friends have often been surprised to receive one of my creations!
So all these projects create leftover balls of wool of which I have been making Twiddle Muffs for dementia sufferers. These were gratefully received by my local dementia support group in Rugby.
Octopuses for premature babies, which I sent to Pembury hospital.
Being a wool shop freak the leftovers just weren’t enough, so with the purchase of a few choice balls of yarn I decided to practise my crochet and made a few Cloche style hats and with the help of my sisters modelling them, the orders started to come in and so RoxyChicKnits was born.
Its great to be able to display and sell my work here at the marina and I have now been successful in gaining my Traders Licence so that I can sell from my boat whilst I am cruising our beautiful inland waterways.
Looking forward to meeting other traders on ‘the cut’ and being a part of the floating markets.
